Studio Novarin sas is specialized in planning, designing and construction management of transport network infrastructure and systems, with particular emphasis on roadways, bridges, tunnels, parking structures, public transport systems, etc.

Recently, Studio Novarin has prepared the construction design of the
new tramway-on-tires in Padua, that is currently on a running phase and is the first Italian example of light tram on tyres.

The Padua project involved the design of all the structures, stations, buildings and plants to operate the whole system; single tasks were tracing the track geometry, solving traffic and pedestrian interferences, designing stations, terminals, bridges, tunnels, ramps, new roadways, etc.; other tasks dealt with transit operations, rehabilitation of existing roadways, electrical power, overhead contact systems, signs and signals, ecc.

Additional recent
transit studies and related infrastructures plans include:
- a new mono-rail system (5 km track length) for the city of Jesolo, a tourist place nearby Venice;
- a new mono-rail system for the city of Beirut (Lebanon);
- bus studies for several towns in the North-East of Italy
- bus station plans for the towns of Latisana and San Giorgio di Nogaro, nearby Udine.

Recently, the
new cable-stayed bridge in PortoMarghera (Venice) has been completed and is now open to road traffic; the design of that structure (which features two main 100 m curved spans and an inclined central 70 m high pylon) was performed jointly by Alberto and Marco Novarin, and has been extended to all the arterial network that carries the port traffic coming from the inland freeway system.

The same team has recently designed and managed the construction of the
new pedestrian bridge over the Sile River in Jesolo (Venice).
This structure is an interesting example of mobile cable-stayed bridge, that has a single span of about 40 m and is movable upward by hydraulic jacks using a counterweight located in the pylon.

Alberto Novarin
has a degree in civil building engineering from the University of Padua and a Master of Science in transportation systems engineering from the University of California, Irvine; he is a registered professional engineer since 1987 and is currently in charge as the Director of the Studies and Research Centre (CSR) of the Italian Traffic Engineering Association (AIIT), based in Rome; he is also the author of many publications in the field of traffic and transport engineering, including bus stop location and geometric design criteria.

Marco Novarin has a degree in structural engineering from the Universitą of Padua and a Master of Science from the Ecole Nationale de Ponts et Chausses, Paris; he is a registered professional engineer since 1991; he is also the author of many publications in the field of structural and bridge engineering.

Studio Novarin SaS is a private-owned engineering company with about 10 employees and many permanent external consultants.
